Coastal Areas in India are much vulnerable to multiple disasters and it is a regular phenomena. Providing safe water and sanitary measures to the victims of disaster is a challenging task when the village is inundated by Flood or Cyclonic rain water. It was our experience in 2002 and 2008 floods,the victims who were trapped in flood water were forced to release excreta in the flood water around their houses and using the same water for cooking and drinking purpose. Epidemics were spread out with in two days and several people died with cholera. Hence Water and Sanitation are challenging task particularly in crises time.

  1. In such case, you need ultra filtration technology which can treat water on mass scale without use of electricity. Ministry of Drinking Water has included this technology in Innovation-2015 held at Delhi
