OASE Professional CyanoClear removes algae from the Ganga water in Varanasi, India.

In the month of May, the water of the River Ganga in Varanasi suddenly turned green. This sudden change in colour was due to a cyanobacterial bloom, also known as blue-green algae. Concentrations of nitrogen and phosphorus increased, posing a threat to aquatic life and disrupting the river's ecosystem in the holy city.

The National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG) contacted OASE partner SayEarth to find a solution to this problem.

OASE Professional came out with an immediate solution. A shipment of CyanoClear immediately made its way to India and trials were conducted at the Dashashwamedh Ghat in Varanasi.

The algae was eliminated within hours of applying the solution and there was a marked improvement in the colour of the water.

We thank Namami Gange and the National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG) for putting their trust in us and giving us the opportunity to clean the holy river.
