Low lying areas and erstwhile agricultural fields no longer underfarming , but fiiled up as land for houseconstruction , tend to have well waters with high iron content. They may have presence of oily substance and muddy particulate material in surface waters. This is best treated with a combination of chemicals like Alum, baking soda, washing soda ,bleaching powder and lime. This has to be repeatedly periodically once in 2 or 3 months. After 3 or 4 such repetitions the water can be treated as a follow-up with coriander leaves and dried seeds of drumstick. This ensures clean water from such wells, with foul and muddy waters initially, for a long time.
