A mineral that has bactericidal properties and is suitable for the purification of drinking and waste water is well known to me. But this mineral is very far from you.
I advise you to select and test minerals with bactericidal properties in the Caribbean. Simple filters can be manufactured or assembled in each family. Such filters I use for more than 20 years.
