Dear Martin, after reading your message, let me introduce you our foundation Race for Water dedicated to ocean preservation. We launched in April a 5-years expedition around the world Race for Water Odyssey 2017-2021 with an integrated mixed solar-hydrogen-kite powered vessel, Race for Water (formerly Planet Solar) to promote solutions to preserve the ocean from plastic pollutions. This ambassador vessel carries our 3 pillars: LEARN: contribute to the advancement of scientific knowledged on plastic pollution in wate, SHARE: alert decision-makers, raise awareness among the pulblic and ACT: Promote and implement sustainable solutions with significant social impacts. I would be please to send you more information about this Odyssey and our actions. I would like also to invite you to join our Water Guardian Experts platform that gather a lot of people working towards solutions to fight plastic pollution of our oceans. Looking forward to hearing from you, Kind regards, Kim van Arkel

Hi Kim, thank you for getting back to me. Of course I am personally interested in your journey and entirely support your aspirations. By all means contact me separately regarding this.
However, on behalf of a fee paying client, I am looking for a specific large scale maritime solution that can be leased or purchased now to address a specific problem in a specific location out at sea. If you know of such a vessel through your network, then please do let me know.
Warm regards, Martin

I sincerely understand the need to talk about issues. But as the world renown microbiologist once said " You really do not need to stop and discuss the effectiveness and availability of the firehose when the burning building is right in front of you ". The pollution problems and all plastics not disposed of properly has been solved. The answer came directly from mother nature herself. Nature has been cleaning our earth for the last 4.5 billion years without our assistance. If man wants to clean up his own mess then bring natures clean up crews to the actual site. This technology is called bioremediation. Fortunately all plastics are organic compounds. Easily bioremediated into their elemental parts. Current costs for this is 11 cents for a ton of the plastic. Dr Martin has the right idea of doing something right now. No need for learning the difference of what is good and what is bad. Since man does not know the answer to that question when discussing nature.

I have my design completed. The very large ship (refitted oil tanker, bigger the better), will be electric. 100% sustainable. Collect all plastic and any other trash on the ocean. Grind it up to make compost, use compost to make compost tea, use on gigantic greenhouse = the whole ship. Grow food, use it, prep for long term storage, ship will double as an eco village for school credits or thesis. Ports of call to collect their excessive garbage, trade our produce for need ship supplies, (less trash for their landfills and more eco currency for the 100% off the grid technology manufacturing. A natural disaster rescues ship. Fully stocked with medical supplies. housing etc for 200,000 to 400,000 people depending on final ship size available to be refitted. I only work with cutting edge technology. No other person or organization has the capacity for 100% biodegrading of all plastics and any toxins found.
