Is dirty water better than no water? Is there a feasible solution? The solution is surprisingly simple and no infrastructure is needed. Long-lasting water projects can be built in communities for relatively small amounts of money which includes, wells, dams and rain harvesting systems which will provide a source of water close to the community. By having a well or dam in or close to the community means that there is no need for anyone to spend their days walking to collect water and kids can be kids again and school days wont be lost. Education is the key to success. Solcentury has got a solution to ensure communities can have clean drinkable water from the water source created from wells, dams or rain water harvesting. The mobile water sterilisation unit does not only sterilizes but kills, destroy and removes bacteria and viruses in the water, providing the end-user with safe, clean drinking water at very low cost, without the addition of any Chemicals or Chlorine. There are additional options available for removing Toxic metals such as Arsenic and Mercury from any water source. These units, designed in South Africa specifically for use in remote areas are powered by either gasoline, diesel or solar power, it is also available as a combo powered unit. The solar unit allows six hours of back-up should the unit need to run at night with very low maintenance and no special skills needed with the possibility of creating jobs within the community. Costing Per unit. With less than 4% water loss and from as little as 5 CAF per litre for Solar and 7, 5 CAF petrol. In other words for less than 750 CAF per person per month (or 1 125 CAF) to receive 5 litres healthy drinking water per day. This was calculated @ 10 operating hours per day and 30 days per month over a 3 year timespan. You can be a part of making this simple but tremendous change. All you need to do is log on to www.solcentury.co.za to view the water sterilisation unit and to support sponsoring companies working in Africa to make Africa and developing countries, water drinkable.
