Recently an award for the most cited article received from the Journal of Environmental Management, Elsevier. The article entitled, "Modelling dye removal by adsorption onto water treatment residuals using combined response surface methodology-artificial neural network approach" is authored by me (Mahesh Gadekar) and my research guide and supervisor (M Mansoor Ahammed). The work demonstrate ability of sludge from water treatment plant to be used in the industrial wastewater treatment (textile wastewater treatment) for colour removal. Further, the process is modelled using combined approach of the response surface methodology (experiment design) and artificial neural network, This initiates the reduction in the number of trials to model the process and also saves time to reach the most close approximation in limits of experiment. However, the results also been significantly close even partly extrapolated.
