Water sector policies of rich nations and international financial institutions of the world, favour rich and influential people, organisations and the rich states. Their policies are related with money, not with the quality of life of poor people. Village ponds, small dams, small natural drainage channels are disappearing in bulk, due to construction activities & development works, resulting in unavailability of water for poor human beings and the animal folk. But the western world and international financial institutions are not making efforts to prevent it. Governments are working not for poor, but for rich and influential people and communities. This is an alarming situation which needs to be given attention for immediate remedial measures and change in policies.
