Residents of areas north of Durban in KwaZulu-Natal will have to wait another week for water supply to be restored. On Wednesday the eThekwini Municipality announced that the restoration of water supply would be delayed by a week due to ongoing repairs.

The Water and Sanitation Minister Senzo Mchunu today visited Phoenix and Verulam in the north of Durban to assess the current state of water supply.

This is Mchunu's second visit to the area this month. Earlier, he met with residents in the affected areas and committed to ensuring that the water issues would be resolved by yesterday.
