PIK - Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research
Seven of nine planetary boundaries now breached – ocean acidification joins the danger zone, finds the new Planetary Health Check 2025 from the Planetary Boundaries Science Lab at the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK), with PIK scientists Levke Caesar, Boris Sakschewski and PIK Director Johan Rockström. "More than three-quarters of the Earth’s support systems are not in the safe zone", Rockström states. "Humanity is pushing beyond the limits of a safe operating space, increasing the risk of destabilising the planet."
