The layout of pressure vessels in Torrevieja Desalination Plant is special. In most of existing SWRO Plants, the second pass is either on the left side or right side of the First Pass.
However, the Torrevieja Desalination Plant, Spain with a capacity of 240,000 m3/day has a unique feature that the second pass pressure vessels are set on both sides of the first pass vessels.

The 240,000 m3/d Torreviega facility is the largest desalination plant within Spain’s Plan Agua, and the largest in Europe. The seawater reverse osmosis plant was designed, delivered and is operated and maintained by Acciona Agua.
The plant is reportedly operating at below its full capacity.
