Please find below the theme note and do let us know if you could send us your article.Theme note - Analysis & Treatment Of RO Reject – October 2019 issueWith populations rising and water sources becoming stretched, increasing attention is being paid on how water is used and reused. Industry, agriculture, and domestic water users are all competing for this most precious natural resource. In the past five decade  has witnessed the variation for increase in population, urbanization and decrease in available clean water noticeably. Several pollutants and its derivatives are discharged into water environment. Most of the pollution is caused by organics, nutrients, and contaminants with low concentration but is highly toxic to human and aquatic environment. Consequently, the rapid growing water requirements along with the wastewater from municipal sewage treatment plant have been alarming, which has led us to consider the reuse of wastewater from the water-intensive industries. The disposal or management of RO reject water is expensive and faces major environmental challenges. In spite of the scale of this economical and environmental problem, the options for reject management have been limited. The increasing cost of water and waste discharge is putting pressure on companies that are looking to recover and reuse RO reject water. It is possible to reuse the reject water with the use of ultrafiltration (UF), reverse osmosis (RO) and a membrane bioreactor (MBR) that are an integral part to implement at all level possible industries. Moreover, wastewater reuse is not only the requirement but it also provides several eco-friendly benefits. Although wastewater reclamation and reuse has gained approval as a necessary tool to be included in sustainable integrated water resources management, there are still several key points to be developed for safe use of the resource. Our October 2019 issue will be concentrating on analysis and treatment RO reject. We would like to invite you to share your experiences in the form of articles, technical papers and case studies with our readers.
