CREATING THE WATER WORKFORCE OF THE FUTURE WEBINAR SERIES People are a Utility’s Most Important Asset They say it takes a village to create a family. Recruiting, retaining, and motivating a talented and diverse workforce is one of the most important challenges facing today’s water and wastewater utilities. As these utilities confront this challenge, it often takes many partners to create a truly sustainable and motivated workforce. These partnerships often begin by educating students and others on the value of water and the importance of  careers in water. Please join EPA and other partners to hear how utilities can collaborate with Project Wet to reach the next generation of the water workforce. Project Wet works closely with Boise WaterShed Environmental Education Center and El Paso Water’s TecH₂O Learning Center to attract and educate students on the importance of the water sector. Julia Beck, Vice President of Networks, Project Wet Foundation, brings a wealth of knowledge in managing projects. Julia has developed educational resources for the organization, and provided trainings and support for the growing network. April Lopez, Water Conservation Education Specialist, El Paso Water, works with teachers across multiple school districts and leads programming for field trips and in-classroom visits. Cindy Busche, Environmental Education Manager, Boise WaterShed Education Center, has developed and teaches programs about water protection and water conservation.
