Iran's homegrown high-tech device is set to serve the needs of 320,000 people. This reactor generates ozone nanobubbles, a pivotal enhancement in the effectiveness of water treatment. Ozone reactors are sophisticated systems that mix ozone gas with water, wiping out contaminants such as bacteria, viruses, and metals, while also tackling taste and odor issues. The nanobubbles, an innovative addition, escalate the efficiency of ozone dissolution in water, thereby refining the water treatment process.
The unveiling of this reactor comes at a crucial time for Iran, a nation grappling with a serious water scarcity issue. Projections indicate a 25 percent decrease in surface water runoff by 2030, adding fuel to the urgency of finding innovative solutions to this pressing problem. Iran's Commitment to Overcoming Water Challenges
In the two years leading up to July 2023, Iran demonstrated its commitment to overcoming water challenges by launching 12 new water treatment facilities and 24 wastewater treatment plants. The nation also bolstered the number of desalination plants by 6 units, enhancing the daily capacity to 54,000 cubic meters. Furthermore, Iran raised its wastewater recycling capacity by an impressive 324 million cubic meters annually.
