Controlling and regulating rivers and surface water resources including saline, brackish and fresh water and optimizing and improving their quality in southwestern Iran.

Drought is one of the quietest natural disasters against floods and the damage caused by drought is far greater than other natural disasters (such as floods, hurricanes, volcanoes, and even earthquakes). In the picture below, two relatively saline rivers can be seen in parallel with a length of 60 km and a total of 120 km and an area of 750 square kilometers with a catchment area of 57,000 hectares.
We conducted geological, hydrological and environmental impact assessment (EIA) studies in the area, Existence of Gachsaran evaporitic formation has led to change in surface and groundwater quality as fresh, sulfated, saline and very saline water (100 meq / l EC) EC.
In this study, with 11 proposed solutions (laboratory, experimental and technical) and flood control (with a basic flow rate of 150 l / s and an instantaneous flow rate of 300 l / s), we can create salt springs with a very low flow rate (5 l / s). Separate and prevent the daily entry of 260 tons of salt into the downstream rivers.
The benefits of this project include providing drinking water to the people of the region, expanding the ecosystem and species of flora and fauna, creating tourism environments, preventing soil erosion, and so on.
