The California Department of Water Resources (DWR) has released its Public Review Draft of the Water Desalination Grant Program Round 4 Proposal Solicitation Package (PSP).  DWR will hold a minimum of three workshops to inform interested parties about the draft and to request public comments.  Comments are due by 5:00 pm on May 12, 2017 .  If you are interested in this funding but need grant writing assistance please feel free to contact us for help.  We would be happy to pre-vet your project concept to help you determine if it is a good fit for this opportunity.  These are for projects in CA only.  Please contact me at: kcarter@grantmanagementassoc.comwww.grantmanagementassoc.com   The workshops are currently scheduled as follows: Carson, CA (Southern) Monday, May 8, 2017 1:00 pm to no later than 4:00 pm West Basin Municipal Water District Donald L. Dear Headquarters Building 17140 S Avalon Blvd Carson, CA 90746 Fresno, CA (Central Valley) Tuesday, May 9, 2017 1:00 pm to no later than 4:00 pm Fresno County BOS Hearing Room 2281 Tulare Street, Fresno, California  93721-2198 Sacramento, CA (Northern) Wednesday, May 10, 2017 1:00 pm to no later than 4:00 pm Department of Water Resources Bonderson Building Hearing Room 901 P Street, Room 102A & 102B Sacramento, California  95814   This grant program will provide water desalination grants authorized in Proposition 1, a state bond act that passed in 2014.  DWR will administer $93.1 million from Proposition 1.  The program provides grants for construction projects, feasibility studies, environmental documentation projects, and design and research pilot projects.  The overall goal of the program is to fund projects that advance desalinated water as one of many water resource management strategies in the state to meet municipal water supply needs or create or improve municipal drinking water supply resiliency and reliability.  Both brackish water and seawater desalination are addressed in the program.  The PSP contains program guidelines and application procedures.
