Financial Models for Water Sustainability, just published by the Milken Innovation Center, outlines new capital structures in systems financing and new water services models to meet California’s water challenges. The financial models were developed out of the Financial Innovations Lab, held in July 2015, a key part of the California−Israel Global Innovation Partnership launched by the Milken Innovation Center in conjunction with the University of California, Berkeley, University of California, San Diego’s Rady School of Management, UCLA, and University of California, Irvine. The partnership’s goals are to engage government, business, and communities in accordance with a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed on March 5, 2014, by Governor Jerry Brown and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.  For California, the partnership will foster technology transfer and development into real-world applications more quickly. And the partnership gives Israel a test bed for scalable solutions, a growing market for products and services, and co-investment opportunities.
