Shuaibah III Expansion SWRO Plant (250,000 m3/day)

Most of the Dual Media Filtration Systems in SWRO Desalination Plants have a separate pressurized backwashing facility. However, in Shuaibah III Expansion SWRO Plant (250,000 m3/day) the backwashing of Dual Media Filters can also be carried out without pressure. During normal operation, the filtrate is stored in an elevated concrete tank. If the water is not available for backwashing as possible during startup then this tank can supply the water for backwashing. As the tank is at an elevation, its elevation serves as the driving pressure for backwashing of the Dual Media Filters.
Shuaibah III SWRO Plant is located 100 kilometers south of Jeddah. It is an addition to existing 150,000 m3/day SWRO Plant. The maximum production capacity of Shuaibah III SWRO Plant is 250,000 m3/day (66 USMGD). Each first Pass of ten trains have 280 RO Vessels with seven RO Membrane Elements. The first Element is TM 820M-440 and the remaining six elements are TM 820 V-440.
