We also did an interview with a professor from São Paulo Brazil as part of the book release.

With Modflow OWHM used across the world including a national Conus model and widely used in California and in critical US-Mexico Transboundary watersheds too, it’s important that all see how this latest version of USGS Modflow is providing the tools needed to assess sustainability and related supply and demand drivers of land use and climate. Thankfully, this is an official version of Modflow that is still being supported and further developed by the USGS and applied across the world.
This is a great showcase of our MODFLOW-OWHM with examples of our USGS studies in the book and the model exercises using MF-OWHM2 too!! These examples demonstrate how to analyze sustainability in a supply-and-demand framework of water and land use plus variable flows and climate for some of the typical CWM issues.
These books were also presented at the International Association of Hydrology (IAH) conference in Australia this last August by my coauthor, Richard Evans, and by myself this last September at the Association of Mexican Geohydrologists (AGM) conference in Guadalajara, Mexico too.
We also just found out we already have had over 2,254 downloads of our Conjunctive Water Management (CWM) books from John Cherry’s Groundwater Project since its release in August!! This is one of their largest downloads especially for an advanced topic. Should get even more with it also in Spanish coming soon too. Stay tuned for classes later in 2026 in California and Mexico too!!
