From experience, Baleen (after inlet screens) offers improved-absolute performance over the lesser-nominal performance of primary clarifiers/settlers and secondary clarifiers/settlers when installed at 150um & 50um respectively.
Baleen alone however does not however replace the need for activated sludge, anaerobic or aerobic treatments should final discharge require reduction in soluble component concentrations (VSS, TKN, NHx, NOx, TP etc).
For such application, one Baleen’s 40ft containerised B120 plant offers a scalable demonstration opportunity as an alternative to conventional primary and/or secondary clarifiers/settlers with the added advantage being that primary & secondary (WAS) sludge volumes prior to dewatering can be reduced by around 1/3rd because of Baleen sludge thickening (filter screenings Vs clarifier/settler underflow).
We would greatly appreciate the opportunity to discuss this further with you and explore how Baleen Filters might enhance your current or future projects. Please don’t hesitate to reach out—we’d be delighted to connect!
