Here I want to quote another site, i.e. Nalanda district of Bihar. According to local people in rainy season the wells were over flown. Throughout the year they didn't face any type of water scarcity due to the level of groundwater was very near. As per their version the situation was just 20-30 years back. Now we are working there to stored the rainwater for reuse in next scarcity season. Here we are started the work is the shape of "Rooftop Rainwater Harvesting & Management" systems. We just intervene in 9 schools last years and proposed to reuse the stored water after proper treatment for human consumption.
According to me
1. We should think about the proper in-situ management of surface water in such a way that we could able to use that for our uses with ground water recharge.
2. The "Rooftop Rainwater Harvesting & Management" should be mandatory for every government institution and should in a proper O&M and maintenance with appropriate technology. Now we are just doing the same because we supposed to do, but we should think about our future generation. After that we should think about the community and private individual entity for the same.
3. We should use the watershed technology in proper way for all these
4. For all these above a great sense of capacity building is required
