All I know the old basins designed to settle chemicaly treated water flow to let the water roll over the weir and take the floc near the bottom where floc is attracted to the bottom and about 7 ft from the back of the basin water comes up without the floc and exits the basin the water flow equal to the flow that took the floc down returns back to near the weir and creates a line in the water where it goes under with the floc.
