Human Interaction with the Ocean
*Themes are provided as a source of inspiration, we are supportive of different forms of creative interpretations and representations, as long as they honor the ocean.
TIMELINE
September 13: DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION
September 30: TOP TEN POSTED ON OCEANIC GLOBAL SOCIAL CHANNELS
October 5: TOP THREE SELECTED BY ENGAGEMENT*
Mid-October: MENTORSHIP OPPORTUNITY SESSION
*Top Ten Juror Selected Films will be uploaded to Oceanic Global’s Website, IGTV, Facebook, and Youtube. Top 3 films with highest amassed engagement (views, likes, shares, comments, etc.) will be selected as winners of the Oceanic Global Short Film Festival. Top 3 winners will also have the opportunity to receive one-on-one feedback in a mentorship session with select judges.

Inspired by issues arising during the current pandemic – ranging from financial uncertainty for freelancers in the creative industries as well as the dangerous increase in plastic driven by COVID-19 – we created the organization’s first-ever Short Film Festival to spotlight emerging filmmakers with an interest in sustainability. The top entries will be posted online and screened publicly in London in October (Covid dependent).
We have a panel of critically acclaimed jurors on board, and have also partnered with some great companies on this project such as MATTE Projects, EarthX, Convicts NYC, The Klosters Forum and Ocean Culture Life.
