A new Race for Water Odyssey in the service of the oceans, science and energy transition   Dear Water Guardian Experts, We are glad to confirm you that our 100% self-sufficient ambassador vessel will be mobilised again on a five-year programme around the world to conduct scientific studies supporting the preservation of our oceans but also raise awareness and promote new solutions to fight plastic pollution in the oceans , and “Clean Tech” innovations . The first Race for Water Odyssey 2015 , we did with your precious help and supports, brought us to the conclusion that a global clean-up of the oceans is unrealistic. Based on these first findings, the Foundation has set the course for a second expedition, the Race for Water Odyssey 2017-2021 , which aims to continue the work begun in 2015 and develop the third “ACT” pillar of its programmes towards solution to fight plastic pollution. With no impact on the environment, thanks to her ability to hardness both solar energy and hydrogen technologies, the “Race for Water” boat is an exceptional hosting platform. While at sea, this boat offers optimum working conditions for researchers like you to improve the knowledge on the macro and micro plastic pollution issue in relevant study areas crossed by this expedition (such as the Caribbean Sea, Gulf of Mexico, Gulf of California, Sargasso Sea, South China Sea, Gulf of Oman, Red Sea etc.). This year this vessel has been entirely reorganised to allow optimal working conditions with two laboratories ( Dry-Lab and Wet-Lab ) and easiest access for sampling at sea. And, while at land, this vessel will be transformed in a useful educational and communication tool (exhibition zone, conference centre, reception venue, TV studio, etc.) taking advantage of 3 major events: the America’s Cup in Bermuda (2017), the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo and the World Expo in Dubai (2020) to give strong on-site presence. A press conference is scheduled beginning of 2017. If you are interested to join and support our expedition again don’t hesitate to contact us, we will be happy to discuss with you on plastic pollution new research or any event you could plan on board. Kind regards from the entire Race for Water Foundation’s team.
