Egypt to Open Five Water Technology Schools With Italy
The schools will be established in partnership with the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation and Italy's ITSAgro Academy, with campuses located in Sharqiya, Qalyubia, Alexandria, Assiut and Minya.
Students will be able to specialise in water resources management, hydraulic structures, operation and maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment at pumping stations, and water treatment and desalination. The programme will combine classroom learning with practical training at facilities and worksites affiliated with the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation, while curricula developed with ITSAgro Academy aim to prepare graduates for local, regional and international labour markets.
According to the ministry, the initiative forms part of a broader effort to modernise technical education by aligning programmes with labour market needs and expanding partnerships with government entities and international organisations.
