The USA is considering legislation for a "Dig Once" approach to roads and streets. This is great economics and sound sense. Imagine the curbside gutter looking like this and collecting all the storm water!!!!!!!!!

This was implemented in the UK about 20 years ago, following 'The Horne Report', and has brought about a great improvement.
