Install the Unpowered Evaporative Irrigation Controller and Valve inside a suitable evaporator. Connect the water supply to the valve inlet and connect the irrigation application to the valve outlet (note that an arrow under the valve indicates the direction of flow).
Connect the adjustable control dripper to the irrigation application so that it drips water into the evaporator during the irrigation event.
File the evaporator with water until the water level reaches the upper float.
Turn on the water supply and the irrigation starts.
The irrigation stops when the water level reaches the high level, the float jumps up and the valve closes.
The irrigation starts again when sufficient water has evaporated from the evaporator.
How to adjust the water usage rate.
If your plants are not getting enough water, reduce the flow rate of the control dripper. Reducing the flow rate of the control dripper increases the duration of the irrigation event and so your plants get more water. If your plants are getting too much water, increase the flow rate of the control dripper.
How to adjust the irrigation frequency.
Adjust the irrigaton frequency by adjusting the gap between the upper and lower float.
The Unpowered Evaporative Irrigation Controller and Valve can be purchased fro the Measured Irrigationn website for only $39.
