C'mon Man... Raw Water, Really?!

The “raw water” trend might be short-lived — but it has something in common with other pseudoscientific beliefs

We've received a number of emails from Dealers and Customers concerning the newest drinking water fad…RAW WATER.

Below, I've pasted several articles on the subject that deal with and point out the dangers (and unintelligence) involved with drinking Raw Water.

I've also reviewed the LIVE WATER website for a host of "disinformation" designed to sway the reader to accept the website's erroneous and harmful claims.  See the highlightedexcerpts below.

Additionally the LIVE WATER website cites their RAW WATER contains PROBIOTICS.   I've included definitions for several of the bacteria they list…and NONE ARE PROBIOTICS…THEY ARE DISEASE CAUSING MICRO ORGANISMS.

And lastly, there are no expiration dates listed for the highly expensive bottles.  It is important to note here, that in 1930 the average life span in the U.S. was 35 years of age.  Raw water containing typhus was the leading cause of early death.

So here's the problem at the Consumer level as so well addressed in the last Vox article:

The “raw water” trend might be short-lived — but it has something in common with other pseudoscientific beliefs

The “raw water” trend might be fleeting — the appeal of potentially drinking animal pee could wear off — but it has something in common with other pseudoscientific theories that see “natural” as good and “chemical” as bad.

It is hard to persuade people that they’re wrong once they’re sure fluoride is a government attempt at mind control. People tend to rally around their beliefs once they’re convinced of their authenticity, regardless of facts. Sometimes those false beliefs become deeply held because they offer a satisfying explanation that otherwise wouldn’t exist.

Blasting water with ozone changes it's molecular structure.

Ultraviolet germicidal irradiation uses synthetic ultraviolet light, different from our natural environment UV, to kill or inactivate micro-organisms by destroying nucleic acids and disrupting their DNA. A hard fact to swallow, but your drinking water might be considered a genetically modified organism. GMO seeds and GMO water don't have the capacity to reproduce life. Perhaps this could influence human's capacities also.

Pseudomonas oleovorans is a Gram-negative, methylotrophicbacterium that is a source of rubredoxin (part of the hydroxylation-epoxidation system).[1] It was first isolated in water-oil emulsions used as lubricants and cooling agents for cutting metals.[2] Based on 16S rRNA analysis, P. oleovorans has been placed in the P. aeruginosa group.[3]

Pseudomonas aeruginosa is a common Gram-negative, rod-shapedbacterium that can cause disease in plants and animals, including humans. A species of considerable medical importance, P. aeruginosa is a multidrug resistantpathogen recognized for its ubiquity, its intrinsically advanced antibiotic resistance mechanisms, and its association with serious illnesses – hospital-acquired infections such as ventilator-associated pneumonia and various sepsis syndromes.

The organism is considered opportunistic insofar as serious infection often occurs during existing diseases or conditions – most notably cystic fibrosis and traumatic burns. It is also found generally in the immunocompromised but can infect the immunocompetent as in hot tub folliculitis. Treatment of P. aeruginosa infections can be difficult due to its natural resistance to antibiotics. When more advanced antibiotic drug regimens are needed adverse effects may result.

It is citrate, catalase, and oxidase positive. It is found in soil, water, skin flora, and most man-made environments throughout the world. It thrives not only in normal atmospheres, but also in low-oxygen atmospheres, thus has colonized many natural and artificial environments. It uses a wide range of organic material for food; in animals, its versatility enables the organism to infect damaged tissues or those with reduced immunity. The symptoms of such infections are generalized inflammation and sepsis. If such colonizations occur in critical body organs, such as the lungs, the urinary tract, and kidneys, the results can be fatal.[1] Because it thrives on moist surfaces, this bacterium is also found on and in medical equipment, including catheters, causing cross-infections in hospitals and clinics. It is also able to decompose hydrocarbons and has been used to break down tarballs and oil from oil spills.[2]P. aeruginosa is not extremely virulent in comparison with other major pathogenic bacterial species – for example Staphylococcus aureus and Streptococcus pyogenes – though P. aeruginosa is capable of extensive colonization, and can aggregate into enduring biofilms.[3]

Acidovorax is a genus of Proteobacteria. All species are facultative. A. avenae causes bacterial fruit blotch on cucurbit crops.[1]
