The film "The Nile Quest" will give the viewer a background to what is going on and the complexities of current affairs. This clip is part of the intro to this documentary in three episodes, 52 minutes each. The documentary is based on my decades of research on the history of the River Nile, and its role in the region’s history for 5000 years. The film takes the viewer on a journey up the river from its outlet in the Mediterranean Sea, through the deserts of Egypt and the Sudan, to its sources in the centre of tropical Africa and to the Horn of Africa. The aim is to depict the river in all its beauty; to explain and show its hydrological characteristics, and to discuss the river’s economic, cultural and political importance and how the political leaders of the different countries have approached and regarded these issues.
