are we going to achive the targets of MDG at the current rate?

UNICEF/WHO highlight need to further reduce gaps in access to improved drinking water and sanitation.

Do you think we can achieve the set targets for MDG at the current rate? for me its a dream which is not easy to fulfill.

1. NO at the current rate but I am optimistic too, look at the good stuff happening every where.

   1. I think there is a lot of cosmetic statements coming from Government Officials across the Globe about reaching the target as regards Water Sanitation and Hygiene. Since most of reports done by government are valued important at the UN, SADC, AU levels not of those from CSOs. It is not possible to achieve the target if Governments are failing to owner the pledges towards several Charters and Protocols they signed against. For example of Malawi, Officials from Government are failing to coordinate each other and it is becoming impossible for a local citizen to know what type of agreements our governments signed. If we have the majority of poor people having no access to drinking water etc i think it is impossible to achieve the MDGs.
