Hand Pump Repairing and Hygiene Training
Published on by KAPRIE J G THORONKA in Technology
Can anyone help us with contacts or links for the possible repairing of over 120 hand pumps on wells damaged? Most of these wells were funded by International donors and made no provision for repairing.
People are now leaving their damaged wells because they were not trained to repair them, and they were not trained on how to take care of their hygienic environment.
We welcome donors, individuals, companies etc to help in any way possible. Individuals who sponsor a well can have his/her name written as a memory forever.
Reports including pictures and thank you letters will be sent.
Please if interested, do send us an email today at wulayth@gmail.com or projects@childhelpsl.org.

Nice manual drilling pictures!
You can find a number of manuals and training resources on the RWSN website, such as here; http://www.rural-water-supply.net/en/resources/sort/title-asc/filter/2_8
How do you make sure that after water point has been rehabilitated that keeps working - do you do on-going monitoring and repairs?

Yes, we do ongoing monitoring and repairs. Due to short of funds, pumps were not repaired in late 2016

There are some relevant documents in the group library for Hand pump repairs and maintenance. You can refer to the
Hand pumps - repair and maintenance manual created by Wateraid.
Hand pump Maintenance India Mark II and India Mark III - this manual is created by IRC.
It would be helpful to understand which hand pumps you have in your area to share related training manulas with you.
