Gema Alatas as we all know Microcredit for water supply and sanitation is the application of microcredit to provide loans to small enterprises and households in order to increase access to an improved water source and sanitation in developing countries. There are many proven models and examples about this issue. Quickly I can list down some like,
Bank Rakyat Indonesia.
Sanitation Revolving Fund managed by the Women’s Union which was funded by World Bank. (In Vietnam)
WaterCredit: Creating Water and Sanitation Portfolios for Microfinance Institutions (water.org)
Attached here is the case study for Vietnam Sanitation Revolving fund. Hope this helps you.

Water treatment (at point of consumption), not limiting to drinking; but entire water required for all our needs including washing cloths, utensils etc. creates good hygienic conditions and avoids almost 90% diseases. Specially GI diseases are totally avoided that maintains good digestion system and thus maintains overall good health. Better health helps better work, better income and thus better well being. I am sure that this is the missing link (entire water treatment at the point of consumption) in controlling even malnutrition. When one's digestion system is better, he / she can absorb nutrients provided from food by better digestion and having good microflora in digestive track.
