Two leading water organisations have strengthened their relationship as part of a shared mission to positively impact the sector, support the entrepreneurial business ecosystem and create value through innovation, investment and technology.
In an era where water resilience is more important than ever, BlueTech Research, a provider of water technology market intelligence, and Imagine H2O, global water accelerator, have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU), further enhancing their successful seven-year collaboration.
As more entrepreneurs enter the sector to solve water problems, they need the strongest possible support in building companies that last. Assessing over 700 early stage companies between them in the last year, the two organisations are ideally positioned to support the next generation of water innovation.
Formalising the partnership will allow both BlueTech Research and Imagine H2O to support each other in meeting shared goals through combining expertise, resources and ideas. Successful innovation companies like OxyMem (acquired by DuPont), EMAGIN (acquired by Innovyze), Fracta, Apana, Utilis, Aquacycl, Aquafortus and others have leveraged both organisations’ programming to help secure investors and strategic partners.
BlueTech Research chief executive, Paul O’Callaghan, said: “BlueTech Research and Imagine H2O are very much aligned in advancing the global water technology sector and our organisations both view innovation as an opportunity to positively impact water resources globally.
“Together, we have a built strong and successful working relationship, including jointly hosting over 90 water technology companies at the WEFTEC Innovation Pavilion over the past seven years. In this timeframe, more than 50,000 water professionals have engaged with the pavilion’s participating start-ups.”
Imagine H2O vice president of programming, Tom Ferguson, said: “We see a continued growth trend in the water innovation sector as communities and businesses grapple with this global challenge – even during the Covid-19 pandemic. Partnering with BlueTech allows Imagine H2O to further showcase and support entrepreneurial innovations as they engage investors and customers.”
In 2020, Imagine H2O and BlueTech expect to profile and showcase more than 25 innovations through co-produced events and joint content. During the Covid-19 pandemic, the partnership will profile solutions relevant to human health and sanitation, as well as technologies that strengthen municipal water infrastructure.
