A must watchdocumentary: A film on how the people of the Thar desert in India have revived local water sources using traditional systems of rainwater conservation.
The Thar Desert is one of the most water-stressed areas in all of India and with climate change average rainfall is expected to be more erratic and irregular. Research shows that already every one in five years is a drought year. In order to survive, people of the Thar Desert have gone back to their roots: relying on traditional systems of rainwater conservation.

Rainwater harvesting is in many countries neglected because people have little understanding of its importance. Does any one have a study on the economics and sustainability of rainwater harvesting applied in any developing country?

Interesting, it would be nice if all the group members write about ancient rain harvesting techniques used in their respective countries.
