constructed wetland

I myself 3 years back did a pilot project of making constructed wetland for teh treatment and disposal of waste water generated from the marriage palace/ resort. as there are random marriage parties etc happened in resorts so conventional type of sewage treatment plants are not feasible due to many constraints.as the waste water was apoprx 8-10KL we constructed wetland of size around  40sq. meters and water hycinth  was planted there, which lowered the nutrient level or BOD under permissible limits of 100 then a tank filled with sand filttration media using natural filtration was used with any pressure motor or electric connection, the result was good. water hycinth  plants can be used as green manure in agriculture fields and unlike STPs this wetland method doesnt need any manpower,maintenance or power to drive,,,

1. Kindly share info on various other characteristics which were tested as you have informed only about reduction in BOD reduction . How much was the resident time during such reduction took place from what level in influent?
