How about its effectiveness in reducing the COD? Any limitations?

 It is effective in reducing the Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) in the Wash-and-Rinse wastewater generated from washing and rinsing of agro-products likes fruits, vegetables, cereals, etc. In the pilots and field applications carried out, COD of about 7- 200 mg/L were reduced to Nil - 4.0mg/L on the average with the treated/recovered water having residual disinfectant values within WHO/Nigerian Industrial Standard (NIS) acceptable limits. The limitation, so far, comes in when there is a very high contamination of the wash-and-rinse wastewater with organic matter, like when there are decaying products in the mix, and COD is very high. Here, a large quantity of this SaferEx is required or COD/BOD tested and customised "SaferExx" is used for greater efficiency.
