As it takes a long time to approve and build a desalination plant, plans must begin now and preparation for at least 50 years ahead. As the crisis is in all of the middle east, a solution can be: 1 building or expanding a desalination plant on the mediterranian coast with a capability of 1,000,000,000 cubic meters per year (40 METER CUBES PER SECOND) with a pipeline that will supply a third to Israel, a third to Jordan and a third to the west bank. This will solve an urgent need and possibly help in reducing friction between the nations without affecting present water sources. By the time this is completed the population will increase as will the demand for more water. THINK AHEAD, THINK BIG!!
