First intelligent wastewater pumping system in North America
Throw-back day - with patrick decker and myself when we were a bit younger. We taped this interview on the announcement of the Flygt Concertor pump at DC Water's Blue Plains. I bring this back because among its other cool digital, energy efficiency and remote attributes, this pump has an automatic de-clogging capability - super important today with all the wipes and other refuse in the collection systems. Was great to work with Xylem Inc. back then, glad to be in a continued partnership today!

  1. Some hint on how the improved energy efficiency is achieved would be helpful.

    1. From my friends at Xylem: The Concertor® system delivers increases in overall pump system efficiency via higher pump hydraulic efficiency, higher motor efficiency and pump system efficiency. It adds unparalleled flexibility (one pump fits all), increased reliability( build in pump cleaning functionality  keeping pump efficiency on sustained level that will result in reduced power consumption) and self-adjustments ( build in heat control that will reduce the power in order to protect the pump). The Concertor® with integrated electronics and software yields energy savings alone of up to 70% in many sewage lift stations.  Due to  above statement regarding higher hydraulic and motor efficiency, additionally no need of extra cooling of VFD and most important the patented energy minimizer algorithm that will automatically finding the optimal operational duty point during  the day.

Add to this additional functionality, longer equipment life and increased pump system reliability will offer you a lower total cost of ownership.
