Automated measurement of flow, pressure and quality through IoT devices would also add valuable information not only about water supply coming from public networks, but also of the companies' own water sources, if they allowed researchers to install such devices. Local water utilities seldom supply bigger industrial and commercial water users, at least in my country, Mexico, where they have federal permits to operate their own sources, individually or organized as industrial parks.
