Marine pollution is a growing problem in today’s world
Published on by Nuno Silva, CSTO - Chief Scientist and Technology Officer at UnifAI Technology in Case Studies
Chemical contamination, or nutrient pollution, is concerning for health, environmental, and economic reasons. This type of pollution occurs when human activities, notably the use of fertilizer on farms, lead to the runoff of chemicals into waterways that ultimately flow into the ocean. The increased concentration of chemicals, such as nitrogen and phosphorus, in the coastal ocean promotes the growth of algal blooms, which can be toxic to wildlife and harmful to humans. The negative effects on health and the environment caused by algal blooms hurt local fishing and tourism industries.
This is where UnifAI Technology takes a major step forward in providing guidance on better managing water quality risks, by the deployment of real-time water quality monitoring solutions, that can provide timely information about water quality by directly processing the data collected from distributed monitoring mechanisms, thereby enabling quick responses to address potential leakages and water pollution incidents.

The elephant in the room, yet persistently ignored, even though getting ever larger by the day is the unabated and relentless disposal of humanity's sewerage to marine environments the world-over - sustained by a 'dilution is solution' mindset, to be simply swept away - the problem is that it doesn't go away - it accumulates and festers. Whether treated or untreated, it is extremely deoxygenating, acidifying and deathly to aquatic ecosystems. We are progressively killing the Ocean (and all its interconnecting waterways) because of ignorance and denial. Such ignorance only compounded by the fact that we forever drain the land of water, only to waste to ocean, so land based ecosystems become deprived of water and nutrients and in turn also face devastation. It is commonly overlooked that the Water Cycle controls Climate, and Humanity has dramatically disrupted both water and nutrient cycles essential to the foundation of life itself. Wake up oh so blind world!

In Thailand WE can control water supply and have Master plan, Activity plan to reduce wastewater and Zero CO2. We do success in AD, AS and also advance treatment. We try to create Green plan. finally we can design Engineering Wetland and it work very well. aggasit2012@gmail.com /whatsApp +660917027747.
