Most of the time, today, the best practice to deliver ultra pure water is to do double-pass RO, first with pH not high to eliminate scale issue or manage with antiscalant while the second one is with pH near 8 (as you show) to eliminate CO2 as well as get near few ppm TDS, followed by IX, which can last for long periods with little load of ions post double pass RO. This strategy has been quite cost effective for my customers as their cost of IX regeneration has gone down significantly, while RO can run with a great deal of automation.
