The natural cyclical events of our Earth are well known. Law of unintended consequences from unrecognized interactive systems where "solving a problem" creates larger, more severe consequences.  The upside of this is enhancing beneficial impacts of an exploit by viewing the scenario holistically, recognizing and leveraging the collateral gains.  That is our philosophy for a more sustainable future.
