Water stewardship loans offered

Farm Credit West, which has an office in Santa Maria, is offering a new low-cost irrigation stewardship loan program to help ensure efficient and environmentally sound water use.
The loans are available to finance projects that will provide adequate sustainable irrigation, production and processing water supplies.
Farmers, ranchers and agricultural business owners who need to drill new wells, repair existing wells or improve their irrigation systems are eligible to apply.
