Summary: Under general direction, plans, supervises, coordinates, and manages the Water Treatment Plant division which includes portions of the City’s public water system. Division oversite includes operation and maintenance of the 47 MGD water treatment plant, remote storage and pumping stations, remote monitoring systems, and distribution system sampling stations all within the approved operating and capital budgets; Coordination and oversite of the maintenance activities at the assigned source water and stormwater facilities; Supporting the Division’s team of licensed operators, licensed electricians, I&C technicians, mechanics, utility workers and administrative staff in the proper operation, maintenance, construction and repair efforts associated with the assigned facilities, equipment and infrastructure and water treatment systems and operations; and performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree with a major in Engineering, Natural Science, Business, Public Administration, or related field and five (5) years of experience in public utilities, public works, or water treatment systems is required, or any equivalent combination of training and experience. Two (2) years supervisory/managerial experience is required. A State of Florida Class A water plant operator license issued by the Department of Environmental Protection is highly desirable. A current and valid Florida driver’s license is required. For application purposes, a valid driver’s license from any state (equivalent to a State of Florida Class E) may be utilized; with the ability to obtain the State of Florida driver’s license within thirty (30) days from date of employment.
