What is the need of adding ozone to spring or mineral water? Can any one tell me, what factors should be consider before purchasing a bottled water. As a lot talk is going on about advantages and disadvantages of drinking bottle water. I am interested in knowing what other people consider before purchasing a bottle of water.

I know Ozone is good for health. But when I was talking to some industry people they said Ozone stays in bottle for 48 hours and when I made a quick search on internet, it says ozone stand only for some 3-4 hrs in water. Quite confusing information. Can anyone describe this more?

Ozone in water
the main role of Ozone is that it burns up the bacteria and only stays in the water for a few hours.so it purifies the bottled water. People choose bottled water for a variety of reasons including aesthetics (for example, taste), health concerns, or as a substitute for other beverages.
What I consider before buying a water bottle is, I Look for water in high grade containers, glass is most preferable. Most bottled waters have no expiration date, and while it is unlikely that substantial amounts of microbial growth would occur after 1 year of bottling of water. this makes me always worry :(.
Keep in mind that you don't know where that bottle has been or how it was handled since leaving the bottling plant. Surface contamination is certainly a possibility. This means, wash the bottle off under a running facet before drinking it.

Joseph, I strongly recommend the water added with ozone. People may add Ozone to spring or mineral water during the bottling process as a disinfectant to inhibit the growth of harmful microorganisms. It also helps in getting rid from the unwanted odor and taste of the water. When choosing a bottled water, examine the bottle and label for date of manufacture or manufacturing code, chemical analysis, treatments applied, company information and the location or type of water source. Examine the bottles to be sure that the seals are not broken and the water is clear and free of debris. Report suspicion of any tampering or extraneous material to the store manager, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency and/or regional health officials. Moreover this there is nothing you can look into while purchasing a bottle. But make sure that while traveling get information about good company of the area and then purchase bottled water.
