Published on by in Technology

Hello dear colleagues, do you know how to monitor Boron instrumentally in the treatment of RO permeate using bORON Selective Resins?

  1. The Sievers (GE analytics) was our choice in UPW and Permeate Boron measurement in 20 projects. It's easy to handle. BR Dieter

  2. How often are you monitoring?  Continuously or periodic - (as in daily?)  This may help determine which approach to take and the budget required.  Our facility measures Boron daily - or as needed, if limits are of concern.  However,  the source water content varies negligibly and is rather consistent in quality.  The primary influence on the boron content is water temperature (higher temperature = decreased boron rejection; at which point, we modify pH to enhance boron rejection.)  We take grab samples daily and process them on a bench top instrument (Hach) with about a 45 mnute incubation time - coupled with laboratory verification on regular basis.

  3. WTR tec has developed a continuously hand held size device to monitor different atoms in spectro-photometry manners. it can be easily adapted to specific wavelength. It can be added parallel to your effluent line and send the results to your cellular  via the internet or to the cloud. the first proto type is adjusted to monitor Chromium soluble in water. try out website to connect

  4. The leaking is due to bad connections

  5. Boron meters continuously  measure  the boron concentration in water circulating in process of light water nuclear power plants. The BM 501 meter continuously measures  the boron concentration in water circulating in process of light water.

Some states have drinking water standards or guidelines for boron (California, Florida, Maine, Minnesota, New Hampshire and Wisconsin); these range from 0.6 to 1 mg/L. You may want to call your drinking water utility or state drinking water program to determine if monitoring is required in your state. Mass spectrometry methods are the most sensitive, selective, and accurate for boron determination.8-10 Nevertheless these methods are very expensive. a new sensor for boron based on an electrode separated piezoelectric quartz crystal (PQC). It is show that a N-methyl-D-glutamine-modified poly(epichlorohydrin) film retains boron and determines the frequency shift of an electronic oscillator.
