Emulsified oil in wastewater

Published on by in Technology

Emulsified oil may be contained in the wastewater from the desalter unit of the refinery.

The emulsified oil in the wastewater is not easy to separate. When the emulsified oil is pumped into the oil tank and then pumped into the refinery, the emulsified oil will affect the relevant units indefinitely.

Any ideas or tips to stop the emulsified oil in wastewater?

  1. There are several proven technologies to treat and infact recover emulsified oil in a concentrated form. This include Ultra Filtration (concentration and recovery ) , Advanced Oxidation processes like Photo Chemical Oxidation , Ozonation

  2. Resourcsextract has two unique technologies for effectively removing oil and particulate matter from waste water.  ReXtract ElectroWave technology can reduce the oil to the PPM range.

hello your post deserves some explanations

you talk about wastewater but what production is it?

then this oil where does it come from?

is it a cooking oil, a hydrocarbon oil?

what is the real problem of your post: the final treatment of wastewater, the destruction of oils, the discharge at the end of treatment?

  4. Hi Lin, you need an advanced oxidation chemical treatment to break these molecules and separate the oil. Electro-coagulation is the appropriate technology. Skimmer will only remove the free oil.
