Materials of Construction and High Chloride Corrosion

Published on by in Technology

What is the most reliable material in a high chloride content, from 15% to 25% environment and at temperatures from 60 C to 90 C?  Sandvik 2507 looks a real possibility. Would you consider  Carbon Steel + Coating as a cheaper alternative?

  1. May you can use FRP, BTW what's pressure rating. Hastelloy  should also work, CS with Coutchuc (natural rubber) can also done.

  2. maybe consider another product than chlorine...?

  3. Coating and carbon steel will not have the same flexibility at temperature deviation, so coating will peel off, except if it will be caoutchouc (rubber) coating, which is proposed by me.
