Rain catchment from upstream areas and at site is dimensioned and soil permeblty is assessd. If like road all will flow but if with grass or porous all water will be on surface and go sub soil.. or flow to downstream.. Makecwater clear by filters big stones. medium pebbles. andvcoarse fine sand or aggregate.. then can be filled in tank or charged to subbsoil aquifers by bore or naturally.. we have 1. Catchment. 2. Clear and clean 3. Consolidate 4. Charging on groundxtanks or sub soilbaquifers.. w wshs from Prof Ajit Seshadri. Vels U.Chennai. India ..

Runoff rainwater fromlarge fields can be harvested underground.. www.varshajal.com

Rain water collection and purification for many uses, sponge city concept etc.

Dear Mr. Gowda,
All the structures for water conservation can be used to conserve the run-off water. By these structures, you will conserve the water by recharging the groundwater. Alternatively, you can collect it in a check dam depending on the site.
You can have more idea of the structures from a textbook or handbook on the subject "soil and water conservation engineering"

It depends on water quality runnoff and on pretended water use, as the quality of rainwater runoff may be as bad as in sanitary sewers. Do you know something about this quality patterns, both income and requested for use you desire?

Depend for wich riuse and for many time, probably you have to added a bit of citric acid

I suggest you go to www.arcsa.org, an organization dedicated to rainwater collection and treatment.

Dear Mr. Gowda
Harvested rainwater (in my understanding: overland flow during storm events collected in reservoirs / ponds or runoff from impervious surfaces like roof tops) can be conserved in terms of quantity and quality.
In order to conserve the quantity of water collected you should minimize the losses due to evaporation and infiltration (mainly in ponds; reduction of evaporation: dimensions of the ponds (higher depth-vs.-surface ratio); reduction of infiltration: impermeabilisation of the pond)
Quality (it is assumed that the overland flow collected does not mobilize any chemical substances on its way towards the collection installation) is mainly an issue if the collected water is used domestically. If irrigation is the main purpose of the water harvesting it is recommended to minimize the amount of sediments / suspended solids mobilized by means of erosion control in the catchment.
Kind regards

dear Sir,
Enclosed i send you a brief presentation about our 100% biodegradable disinfectant.
You can valorise dirty water, also in combination with UV.
you can get back to me if you have any more questions.
Kind reagrds

Bonjour

Hello
Water has several functions on Earth. Runoff water has a special function of soil erosion. It carries with it aluvions, which will end for a part in the background of surface water areas.
Of course, this runoff water is polluted with decaying bodies, excrement, urine, organic, biochemical, chemical pollution.
Keeping it from the bottom makes no sense since everything it contains will decant into the bottom of the tank.
It will be a water, inert, neutral with no added value identical to that of desalination.
It is always necessary to keep in mind the characteristic-biological-elements lying on the planet Earth

As mentioned more info is needed.

Hi. Mr Gawda. Great feat to catch rain water wgere it falls. Pl answer these questions and in the answer you would get a design forcyour RWH system.
1. Do you get rain water coming from neighboring highrt areas.
2. Do you have any channel thro which rain water ex. yr area flows down stream. Then block it and allow it to flow into an existent or new water body.
3. Do u hv an old village well in the site. Ideally rain- water is taken into well after filteration RWH is done.
4. Do you hv any open lake or a w/body . RWH can be done etc.

Hi,
take HOD-UV from Atlantium.com

You could consult the excellent handbooks produced on http://www.waterforaridland.com/publications.html particularly the water from roofs document. Designs and costings included, it's very useful and practical. Good luck.

Hello Mr Gowda,
are you talking about runoff from a roof or into a stormwater system?

Basically 2 things for runnoff conservation
1-Roof water conservation
2-Land water conservation
Provide structure of should be sloped one direction and stormwater collection pipe should be adequately calculated 2 to 3 times peak rain expected /experienced lost 100 years size.U/G tank provided at the house and recycled at individual house location.Additional overflow water should be transported to storm network..
Land water conservation required proper storm drainage network with lift station or gravety type stations and transferred the water to reserviors and recycling this water is important.
Treatment option is chemical treament with clarifiers and sand filtration and tertiary treatment is preferred.

Basically, the objective is to prevent it from running off in the first place. But it's difficult to respond to this question without knowing the particulars of the situation.
