This is a nice system. Is the effluent from the BDT good enough to be used for growing food? How does the system deal with pesticides and heavy metals? Where do they end up?

The effluent water is good enough to be used for irrigation, gardening or simply to be discharged into any water body or just discharged on the ground. The effluent is completely safe to discharge and does not contaminate the water or food chain in any way.

What is the residence time requirement? In other words, how fast does your technology break down the BOD? Have you looked at the effect of temperature on this process?

The Technology (Bio-Digester System) works from 5 degree celsius to 50 degrees Celsius. The normal HRT time for which the system is designed is 2 days meaning the human night soil is completely degraded in 48 hours.
